Seiyun: Launch of "Agricultural Value Chain Enhancement" Project to Support Smallholder Farmers

Today, Sunday, the Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief launched the "Agricultural Value Chain Enhancement for Smallholder Farmers" project in Seiyun. The launch was held under the generous patronage of Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadhramaut, and H.E. Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Socatri, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Tamimi, Assistant Deputy Governor for Hadhramaut Valley and Desert Districts, a representative of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), and several other officials. During the event, Mr. Al-Tamimi emphasized the importance of the project in bolstering the agricultural sector, commending the effective partnership between the local authority, the Saudi program, and the Estijabah Foundation in implementing sustainable developmental interventions. In turn, Eng. Abdullah Basulaiman, Director of the SDRPY office in Hadhramaut, affirmed that supporting Yemen’s agricultural sector is a strategic priority for the program, aimed at achieving sustainable food security and bolstering the rural economy. Mr. Mohammed Baharitha, Executive Director of the Estijabah Foundation, explained that the project aims to empower smallholder farmers by equipping them with the necessary skills and technologies to enhance agricultural production efficiency in accordance with the latest standards. On the sidelines of the ceremony, a musical troupe performed an operetta titled "Rise, O Farmer" ("Qum Ya Mazar'a"), which showcased elements of Yemen’s rich agricultural heritage and embodied the resilience and determination of Yemeni farmers in cultivating and developing their land

SDRPY and Estijabah Foundation Sign Agreement to Enhance Agricultural Value Chain in Three Yemeni Governorates

Riyadh | March 3, 2026 The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) signed an agreement today in Riyadh to implement the "Enhancing Agricultural Value Chain for Smallholders" project. The agreement, signed with the Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief, aims to empower farmers across three Yemeni governorates. The signing ceremony featured H.E. Eng. Hassan Al-Attas, Assistant Supervisor General of SDRPY, and Mr. Shawqi Mahfoudh Baazim, Chairman of the Estijabah Foundation. Project Impact and Scope The project targets approximately 2,300 Yemeni families (benefiting over 16,000 individuals) in the governorates of Abyan, Marib, and Hadramout. Key initiatives include: Providing modern agricultural technologies and advanced irrigation systems. Supporting processing and packaging units. Boosting production efficiency to achieve sustainable food security. Strategic Objectives This project is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to bolster the Yemeni economy. Estijabah Foundation concludes Ramadan dates distribution project across 4 Yemeni governorates

Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Works and Relief has concluded its 2026 Ramadan Dates Distribution Project, generously funded by a donor from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project successfully delivered over 24,000 cartons of dates to displaced persons (IDP) camps and impoverished families across the governorates of Hadramout, Marib, Aden, and Taiz. This initiative aims to strengthen food security, embody the values of social solidarity, and alleviate the suffering of vulnerable families in light of the current humanitarian situation and the approach of the holy month.

Expanded Meeting of the Education Cluster (Hadramout & Marib) Reviews 2026 Needs Plan

The Education Cluster for the (Hadramout – Marib) hub held its monthly meeting today in Mukalla at the Ministry of Education office in Hadramout Coast. The meeting focused on discussing updates within the educational sector and approving the 2026 Needs Assessment Plan. At the beginning of the session, Mr. Amin Abdullah Ba-Abbad, Director of the Ministry of Education office in Hadramout Coast, praised the pivotal role played by the Estijabah Foundation in leading the cluster and coordinating the efforts of international and local partners. He emphasized that this partnership has tangibly contributed to the stability of the educational process through school construction projects and the provision of alternative energy systems. For his part, the Cluster Hub Coordinator, Abdulrahim Baharitha, affirmed the cluster's commitment to activating partnerships with international donor organizations. He also announced the appointment of an emergency coordinator to ensure the immediate reporting of field needs and to enhance the overall quality of educational outcomes

With Kuwaiti Funding, Governor of Shabwah Inaugurates Abdulkarim Al-Babtain Health Center in Ataq

The Governor of Shabwah, Sheikh Awadh bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaqi, inaugurated today in the Joul Al-Aadh area of Ataq city the project for the construction and equipping of the Abdulkarim Saud Al-Babtain Kuwaiti Health Center. This project was carried out under the supervision of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society in the State of Kuwait and implemented by the Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief. Following the inauguration, the Governor inspected the center’s facilities and its medical and office equipment. He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the brothers in the State of Kuwait for their continuous humanitarian support. He emphasized that this project represents the fruit of integrated efforts between the local authority and donors from brotherly and friendly nations to contribute to strengthening service stability and improving the level of health services for the people of Shabwah Governorate. For his part, the Director General of Ataq District, Mr. Abdullah Saleh Al-Khulaifi, confirmed that the center will represent a qualitative addition to the level of health services provided to the residents of the "Joul Al-Aadh" area and neighboring regions. It is expected that more than 20,000 people will benefit from its services. He renewed his thanks to the State of Kuwait and the Estijabah Foundation for the speed and quality of the implementation. In a related context, Engineer Imad Ba-Momen, Director of Programs and Projects at the Estijabah Foundation, explained that the center consists of three specialized clinics, a room for the on-duty doctor, a laboratory, and a pharmacy. Additionally, it includes two separate emergency rooms (for men and women), as well as waiting halls and a warehouse. The center has also been equipped with a solar energy system. The inauguration was attended by Dr. Saleh Al-Marzaqi, Director of Healthcare in the Governorate; Dr. Abdullah Al-Sulaimani, Director of the Health Office in the District; Dr. Mohammed Lamqas, Director of the Center; Ahmed Basha Al-Awlaqi, the neighborhood leader; and a group of social figures and local residents.
